Chemsex and Harm Reduction
Training Package
This Chemsex and Harm Reduction training package has been developed under the SKPA-2 program.
The SKPA-2 Chemsex and Harm Reduction Training Package has been developed under the Sustainability of HIV Services for Key Populations in Asia (SKPA-2) program to strengthen the capacity of community organisations, outreach workers, peer educators, and trainers responding to chemsex and related harm reduction needs.
Developed with inputs from technical experts, including APCOM and Mainline Foundation, the package brings together a comprehensive set of practical tools: a Guide for Trainers, a Companion Facilitation Guide, a set of Accompanying Training Slides, and a community developed Chemsex and Harm Reduction E-Course available in English, Sinhala, and Tamil. Together, these resources provide a flexible, evidence informed suite that can be adapted for different country contexts and used in workshops, training of trainers, and community based learning sessions.

Chemsex and Harm Reduction: A Guide for Trainers (PDF)
This core training manual provides a structured curriculum for delivering chemsex and harm reduction workshops. It equips trainers, peer educators, and outreach workers with clear session plans, learning objectives, activity guides, and key messages relevant to chemsex, HIV/STI prevention, harm reduction, and community health. The Guide follows a participatory and inclusive approach, enabling trainers to facilitate safe, engaging, and evidence-informed sessions across diverse country contexts.

Chemsex and Harm Reduction: Companion Guide on Facilitation Skills (PDF)
The Companion Guide on Facilitation Skills is an optional but valuable resource designed to strengthen trainers’ facilitation capacity. It offers practical tools and concepts on adult learning principles, group dynamics, session planning, workshop design, icebreakers, energizers, and presentation skills. The guide supports trainers in creating learner-centred, engaging, and inclusive environments for chemsex and harm reduction training.

Chemsex and Harm Reduction: Accompanying Training Slides (PPT/PPTX)
The PowerPoint slide set – aligned with the Training Guide – provides visual support for each session. It includes key messages, diagrams, activity instructions and templates for adaptation. Download the slides to use in in-person or online workshops, edit or localise as needed.
